Maths & English Tutoring for Mount Waverley Families

MathsHub runs Maths and English classes inside Glen Waverley Primary School, just east of Mount Waverley along High Street Road. Many of our families come from Mount Waverley, and for most of them we are a few minutes' drive from home.

Getting to class

• By car: head east along High Street Road to 774 High St Rd, Glen Waverley.
• By train: Mount Waverley and Syndal stations are on the Glen Waverley line, one or two stops from Glen Waverley station. From there it is a short walk past The Glen.
• After school: weekday classes start at 3:40 pm, with later sessions on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The later slots give students coming from schools in Mount Waverley time to get here. Sunday morning classes suit families who prefer to keep weekdays free. See the full timetable.

We welcome students from primary schools across Mount Waverley, including Mount Waverley Primary School, Mount Waverley North Primary School, Mount Waverley Heights Primary School, Pinewood Primary School, Essex Heights Primary School, Syndal South Primary School and Holy Family School. Every student works on their own program at their own level, so it doesn't matter which school they attend or what their class is up to this term.

Getting ready for Year 7

The jump to secondary school is where gaps in fundamentals start to show. Whether your child is heading to Mount Waverley Secondary College or another school, we make sure their numeracy and problem solving are solid before Year 7 starts. Students who are ready move on to our secondary program while still in primary school, and many arrive in Year 7 already working ahead of their year level.

Independent school and selective entry tests

Mount Waverley families often look at Huntingtower, Avila College and the selective entry high schools. We don't cram for these tests. Entrance and selective exams reward general ability: strong numeracy, careful reading and confidence with problems students haven't seen before. That is what our programs build, week by week, from primary school onwards.
